Hello fashion lovers and EB readers , i am putting up a tutorial on how to knot  the skinny tie perfectly . In my post on RULES FOR WEARING SKINNY TIES ,i talked about what you need to avoid or do when choosing this type of tie. Now i am gonna teach you how to knot this tie .

Knotting a skinny tie is different from that of the regular one. The tie is preferred to have “the in-perfect knot” in the sense that it should be slightly loose . The tie knot on the skinny tie is also more on the “laid back” side: Slightly loose, non-symmetrical, and with multiple dimples that have a closer resemblance to unwanted crinkles than a perfect tie knot dimple.

The best suited tie knot for skinny ties is the simple and most common tie know: The Four in Hand knot.  The Four in Hand is the most commonly ted knot for ties – regular sized ties, skinny ties, or even extra long ties. The reason the four in Hand tie knot is so popular is because it is first of all quite simple to master. In fact it is often times referred to as the simple knot.  It is also a preferred knot when wearing a shirt with a more narrow collar spread.

Also we have the  Skinny ties instead require a small-knot style, which can be achieved with either the four-in-hand knot or half-Windsor knot.

NOTE: The tie knot is also not a knot one would tie for the business occasion.

The four-in-hand knot is the most common of knots used with skinny ties and our recommendation for a trendy look. It provides a narrow and asymmetrical knot.

For a cleaner and triangular knot, use the half-Windsor. This provides a larger knot than the four-in-hand, but it is still small enough to use with most skinny ties. Use caution if using this knot with ties slimmer than 2-inch wide though (such as with 1-inch or 1.5-inch ties). The half-Windsor knot is on the edge of being too large and too formal for ties of this width.

  1. Helpful info. Lucky me I discovered your website by chance, and I am stunned why this coincidence didn’t took place in advance!

    I bookmarked it.

  2. While these are both great knots, I like to use The Prince Albert knot with skinny ties. It just adds a bit of character to the knot while keeping the knot slim.
